Phil
French, President
Phil French is the President and major share holder of Con-Fab California
Corporation. Phil carries in excess of 40 years of expertise in the
precast industry in such fields as design, estimating, production,
sales, and executive management.
As an individual and as a company, Phil has been involved in the manufacturing
of precast components for bridges, parking garages, office buildings,
cold storage buildings, stadiums, high rise condominiums, and hotels.
Originally from England, Phil has a B.S. in Engineering from London
University (1963) and an M.S. in Structural Engineering from the University
of Hawaii (1974). He worked as an engineer for construction companies
in Australia, England and Canada, before moving to the U.S. in 1968.
In Australia, Phil worked for an American precast company based in
Hawaii that was involved in the manufacturing of precast components
for the Sydney Opera House.
As Plant Manager for Ameron HC&D's Precast and Post Tensioning
Division in Hawaii, he introduced the design and testing of the 9
foot wide Tri-Tee to compete with Hollow Core.
Phil founded his first company, P.C. French Ltd., a post tensioning,
rebar and precast erection firm operating in Hawaii and the South
Pacific, in 1976. In 1984 he founded Con-Fab Hawaii and California.
Con-Fab Hawaii was sold to Rocky Mountain Precast in 1998.
